It was a terrific Tuesday at Joy In The Cause!
Our village of angels filled the offices working on many projects. We truly are blessed to have such an amazing group of volunteers who give daily to help others by paying it forward.
We are preparing for another big backpack filling night at the end of the month so preparations have begun! Many of our volunteers worked on sewing bandanas for the Mavis dogs, and crocheted the lovey blankets that will be going into the backpacks to comfort the children. The students organized the assembly lines and counted to make sure all items were present and accounted for! It takes about a month to organize these massive backpack filling nights. A huge thank you to QuikTrip and Freddy’s for their support of this project. The many individual sponsors and donors also make this project the success that it is!
We were surprised by Tulsa Police Officer Popsey Floyd who came by to pick up backpacks he will be delivering to some children facing tough situations.
Our student volunteers packed the backpacks and helped with this project. It was so wonderful to watch them as those backpacks were picked up and taken to these children. They saw first hand the impact of their “paying it forward”! Officer Floyd shared stories with them and it was a very special time. We are grateful for people like Officer Floyd and his service to the community.
Care packages delivered, Backpack Project for the month started, Blankets and Mavis outfits being sewn, visits from our first responders…..It was definitely a Terrific Tuesday of JOY!
