About Joy In the Adventure

Joy in the Adventure aims to comfort families during times of great sadness. Many families have been impacted by the death of a child or a child’s loss of a sibling, parent, or grandparent. Joy in the Cause recognized the need to help these families find joy and peace during these difficult times.

Many times after the funeral, emotional support stops abruptly, and the family is left to make sense of their
new life without their loved one. This causes great struggles within families, friendships, and everyday life. Joy in the Adventure aims to help families find purpose and joy through activities and service.

Joy in the Adventure is very kid-driven and many activities have been suggested by our Joy in the joy in the adventureAdventure’s kids. Many of the activities suggested have been favorites of their loved ones who have passed. Joy in the Adventure comes straight from the heart and is supportive of anyone who suffers the loss of a loved one. Joy in the Adventure is there through the entire journey.

JITA holds their annual Angel car cruise/show which raises funds to help these families with care packages that are filled with items the family needs.  We honor and celebrate the families and angels through an annual balloon release at the car show.

These funds also enable us to send families to Camp JOY!  We joined forces with Camp Egan in Talequah, OK and created a weekend of JOY where families who have walked the journey of loss can meet, share, enjoy camp activities like hiking, archery, swimming, frisbie golf, and activities planned by Joy In The Cause, from seminars, to an afternoon of painting hosted by Pinots Palette, to care package day where the families help assemble care packages for others going through this difficult journey.

We are thrilled to announce the opening of the new Joy In The Adventure office!  We are so grateful for the sponsors who made this possible.  A very special area in the office is the wall of angels.  Pictures and stories of the angels we have lost on a special wall with angel wings on each side.  These angels and their families become our families.  This is their office to use and fellowship with other families.  The office is already busy as planning begins for the annual Angel car show in September, Gold 4 Kids run, and the big Open House for Joy In The Cause December 1.

There is JOY in the journey, and we hope to help as many families as possible through Joy In The Adventure.

It’s time for adventure!
