She is a registered therapy dog often seen around town in hospitals, nursing homes, schools, and cancer treatment centers. Mavis Pearl spreads sunshine wherever she goes. Her mission has been seen community wide. Word has spread across the globe about Mavis Pearl, who now has close to 30,000 facebook friends from across the country. Mavis is known for her fun loving spirit to help others in their time of need. It is a guarantee that Mavis Pearl will bring a smile to your face. Laughter is the best medicine, and Mavis Pearl is some of the best medicine there is!
Mavis has her CGC (Canine Good Citizen) and even a few obedience titles under her belt. She is registered with Alliance of Therapy Dogs, and is also a member with Karing K-9’s. Mavis Pearl is also the ambassador for a local 501c3 non profit JOY IN THE CAUSE with the mission of providing care, compassion, and joy to those with life altering illness and special needs.
Mavis Pearl is also a R.E.A.D dog. R.E.A D. is a program that improves a child’s reading and communication skills by employing a powerful method: reading to a dog. Mavis loves hearing those stories! There have been many “ah-ha!” moments during these fun reading sessions with the children.
Mavis Pearl is also an honorary OSU Pete’s Pet Posse therapy dog. She has been involved in the Birthday Bash and helps out when needed. Go Pokes!
